| About Robin Alciatore
Robin was born in Santa Monica and is a lifelong Manhattan Beach resident. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, maga cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University as well as a Master of Arts in Humanities (emphasis in 19th Century Romanticism). During her formative years, Robin studied with Italian concert pianist Nino Albanese and Dutch composer and pianist Bernard Verkaaik. In her teens, Robin won two successive Southern California Bach Festivals and a number of regional piano competitions. In college, Robin studied privately with renowned concert pianist and master teacher Johana Harris of UCLA and continued post-graduate work with the esteemed Daniel Pollack of USC. After a number of years as a professional performing musician in the Los Angeles area, Robin refocused her efforts on studio recording, film scoring, and teaching. Since her "internet debut" in 2001, Robin's classical piano recordings have been downloaded more than 4 million times, and five of her albums are currently available on iTunes, Rhapsody, and many other online music portals. Her recordings and original compositions have been used in several feature films and documentaries. Robin teaches privately from her home studio in Manhattan Beach and also offers lessons in students' homes, schedule permitting. She is a member of the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences, the California Association of Professional Music Teachers and the Music Teachers National Assocation.
